BLAKK JUU - "THE INTRO"

Born in Newport News, Va and moved to Dallas Texas at a very young age, I never knew I would end up diving into music the way I am now at age 23, given my past was mostly about sports. I started doing music seriously around 2016 after losing my scholarship while in college. I coped with the loss of playing sports and all my trials and tribulations with writing poetry, which eventually led to me wanting to put my words with beats. Over the years i continuously worked, and still working on perfecting my craft. I’m always trying to create something even better than what my fans would consider my best, because I don’t like to put limits on my creativity. My music is very diverse and versatile and you can hear it with each track you listen to. With that being said, I’m excited to say that I have my first project I just released "The Intro" on July 4th available on all platforms under my label Keepit1hundredint shout to Dee. To all my fans I love you guys and I appreciate you for listening #StayTuned #Usagainsthem

Dragg – “Prayed Up”

Lawrence Sean Sibanda was born in Johannesburg in 1993 to Zimbabwean immigrants and raised in the heart of the City of Gold. While his parents migrated to England, Dragg returned to Zimbabwe during his teens and he quickly came to realise that Bulawayo and Johannesburg were culturally, linguistically and musically very interwoven.
Following a diagnosis with a severe case of meningitis at 12, Dragg’s eyesight and hearing deteriorated, later rendering him completely blind. Not letting his health complications become a hindrance, he set out to accomplish another vision with his remarkable ability to rhyme. Dragg delivers cleverly constructed wordplay with lyrical substance, as he narrates and brings to life tales surrounding his upbringing and environment.
Dragg joined his mother in the UK and practised his craft whilst finishing school. At 16, a collaboration with platinum producer OD Hunte on his first single “What You Need” caught the eye of BBC Look North and resulted in his first TV coverage. OD Hunte and Dragg continued to work together, gaining synchs for “True Champ” (Gillette World Sport, Coronation Street).
In 2011 Dragg met his writing & production partner GTBeats, and after working on several projects as a duo, they teamed up to provide their services to other artists. In South Africa, the duo produced King98’s single “Wacko” (featuring Def Jam artist Nasty C), which received heavy rotation in South Africa. They also co-produced “Sukuma” by DJ Jawz ft Aubrey Qwana and Balinde, which went on to chart in the top 10 on Metro FM. The team are currently working on Da L.E.S’ upcoming album, singles for DJ Speedsta, Buffalo Souljah (Channel O award winner) and Jamaican dancehall legend Beanieman.
In the UK, Dragg and GTBeats have worked with one of the most prominent female voices in Hip Hop and MOBO Award winner Lady Leshur on her single “Let The Beat Breathe.” Paigey Cakey, known for her role in popular British Soap Waterloo Road and her hits with Stormzy and Geko, enlisted the team to work on her single “Too Nice.”
Dragg has shared a stage with the likes of The Game, JLS, Wretch 32, Tim Westwood, DJ Ace and DJ Edu (the voice of Africa on BBC Radio 1xtra and known for his “Destination Africa” show). With his first release in five years, he now breaks out of his successful ghost-writing career to focus on his music with the release of his EP, L.I.T on 21 August.

Billy Blanco is Putting Bronx On The Map!

What is your name and what city do you rep?

My name is Billy Blanco and I come from the Allerton part of the Bronx, New York.

Tell us about your latest releases, what inspired you to create them?

My last release was “Rapid Fire” and I was happy to get my boy Donovan on that and people seem to want us to work some more so we gotta do that but what inspired me with “Rapid Fire” was just making every line hit you and have you like, “Oh sh*t this n*gga don’t fuck around he can spit and he’s deadly with it.” Lines that hit you and come at you like….“Rapid Fire.”

What is unique about you and your music?

What’s unique about me and music is that throughout my whole life I feel I’ve seen both sides of everything, from having a nice house and a family with money at one point to having jack sh*t and robbing places in order to eat. I can relate to almost everyone and with most of these rappers coming up they wanna be a person people wanna be like and with me I want to relate to people cuz that’s how you connect with these people.

What shaped your music?

The death of my father and the trials and tribulations that came with not only losing my father (we were very very close), having to step up, be the man and overcome constant financial troubles but also becoming a man and growing up without a father in the years a young kid truly needed him the most which was my high school years. Every song as well as everything I do is for that man right there and I like to think he’d be blown away with everything I’ve done so far with this music sh*t.

When did you realize you were going to make music professionally?

When everytime I recorded music or wrote and rapped it for a group of my friends I never received a shred of negativity, critique of course, but never any negativity. My streak is hot out here, haha.

What type of music do you listen to?

Whatever sounds good, feel me? Music is about vibing and feeling the sounds of the music you listen to so if that shit slaps then I’m listening to it. I primarily listen to Rap but I listen to other stuff from time to time.

What inspires you to write music?

Being the best n*gga out here and delivering something better than the last time. I also write my music to express myself on another level and in ways you can’t explain or do regularly. Writing music is the ticket to a life of prosperity and success.

What do you do when you don’t do music (creative or otherwise) and that you are passionate about?

Smoking bud for damn sure you already know that’s my second favorite pastime besides making music but I also do graphic design and make cover arts, logos, etc. which can be purchased by DM’ing me on Instagram (@cbk.blanco). Eventually I want to do movies and television as well as comedy but for now Rap is my main focus.

Happiness to you is…

Four blunts, Three Belaire bottles, Two bad b*tches and one of me to enjoy that shit…. Nah but on a serious note happiness to me is the purpose of life and we all seek it and I don’t know if true happiness exists but I’m working my ass off to find out.

What do you wish you were told when you first started making music that you think would help artists just starting out?

Watch out and protect your music and intellectual property because music is fun and amazing but people are cutthroat and will scam you and do bumass sh*t in order to come up. As well as that I would say that you really find out who you are when you do this sh*t.

Tell us about your upcoming projects...

My next project coming out is my new single called “Force “ which will be releasing this summer and will be my first release under Virginia is Kool Music. Stay tuned for that that sh*t is gonna go crazy.

Where do we find you music / music projects?

You can find my music on your favorite streaming platform as well as keeping up with me and my music by following me on Instagram (@cbk.blanco).

Any last words for the readers?

Run my shit up for me you hurd… Follow me on IG and if you’re wavy enough I’ll smoke with you.

Billy Blanco - "Rapid Fire" ft. Donovan SOT

My name is Billy Blanco and I am an upcoming artist from the Allerton part of the Bronx. I started rapping in college during 2018 mainly just to pass time and because there was really nothing to do on that boring ass campus. Over time I had met friends on campus that rapped a little more than me and I started taking it seriously and took the time to complete songs to beats I heard on YouTube. I would rap these songs I wrote for my friends while we smoked and they f*cked with it so I kept writing more songs and eventually I started developing so I started recording and I released my first EP project in the Summer of 2019 called “Journey”.

During the short time I’ve released music, I’ve collaborated with U.R.L legend D.N.A as well as working with Ruff Ryder Records and being signed earlier this year to an independent label named “Virginia is Kool” which is affiliated with Universal Music Group. This summer I plan on dropping my new single “Force” which will be my first release under “Virginia is Kool” and will be avaliable on all streaming platforms as well as having my first visual drop on YouTube for the song.
